Update from Dan

First, the important news.  Chester is doing great.  (I should have called this the Help Chester blog...) As Dan put it, he's feeling well enough to misbehave.  He has a new crate, a toothbrush, free medicine from Montrose Veterinary Clinic (thank you!), a new collar and leash, a whole bag of new tennis balls (!!!!), and last night enjoyed a little bit of bacon with his dinner for the Fourth of July.  Chester is having loads of fun playing with the Breuers' lab Winston.  Their bromance grows daily.   It's like summer camp for dogs.

Now, for Dan.  Dan is great too.  He's so overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and feels so grateful for the support he has received.  He has even taken to randomly hugging strangers on the street in spite of the risk of assault charges being levelled against him.  Should you see him, please keep a 10 foot radius and a spray bottle at the ready.  It's for your own protection.

He continues to run and to train for his first triathlon on August 8.  He ran the Run Wild 5K yesterday and swam at 288 Lake.  It being the Fourth of July, he then ate his weight in hamburgers after, thereby nullifying all beneficial effect of the exercise.  That's okay though.

Dan will be meeting with a financial planner this week to discuss the best way to move forward with his townhome.  Additionally, he is still searching for the best place to live this school year despite the Breuers' wonderful hospitality so far.  David has threatened to end Dan's snoring with a well-placed pillow.  Dan has not slept well in weeks due to keeping the proverbial one eye open for a potential night-time stealth ninja attack from David.

In all seriousness, Dan's goal is to find a home close enough to St. Thomas and his various training facilities so that Chester can play and Dan can work and continue to lead an active lifestyle - in short, what we all look for.  As Dan puts it, he is a social animal.  If anyone needs a house sitter and doesn't mind having an extra four-footed friend named Chester to love you hanging around, please let him know.  Dan does note, however, that he would make a poor cabana boy.  (I disagree.)

Dan has been offered an embarrassment of riches by everyone he knows and even many people he doesn't know, including but not limited to multiple guitars, TVs, beds, and televisions.  However, he has received special instructions not to accept a guitar for the long term as his friend and St. Thomas colleague Chris Wardwell has initiated planning for DANSTOCK.  While particulars remain in development, Wardwell assures Green that DANSTOCK will afford Dan with the ability to rock on.  Keep your calendars open in August.  More information will be posted here as it becomes available.  The Summer of Dan has arrived.
